Congratulations on retirement, Scott!

And that's a wrap, I thought to myself as I was a witness to the brilliant sunset out the airplane window as we landed at the midway airport located in Chicago. Scott and I were both arriving to one of our favorite cities to celebrate his retirement of a 42 year career with National Fiber Supply. And how does one celebrate that? Well in a grand way with family, friends, and coworkers who fit in both of those categories. Many of us tease Scott about being a dinosaur in the work force for no one stays with the same company for that many years any more. But honestly the admiration he deserves, as our friend Lauren shared, is to his rare dedication and loyalty to one company for that many years. Scott's career years were filled with beginning at the bottom of the ladder as he worked his way up with hard work, determination and the belief in supporting his family. His work travels gave him times of missed memorable moments in his family life as well as not being present during the challenging times such as emergency room visits with the kids due to sport injuries. But there were also moments of the gift of travel to see new places, connect with people and of course play golf on some fabulous golf courses. I believe that Scott's success comes from his ability to make those around him feel seen, heard, and valued. His connection to people and their story was very important to him.  Congratulations Scott and job well done. Our future looks bright and full of adventures as we head into our next chapters together. We are going to have the time of our lives!
