"Lights, Camera, Action".
These are the words I've been waiting to hear for almost 15 years. They were music to my ears as Daylam Productions arrived last Saturday, November 1, to film the story of our first individual in the community of Hayesville, NC. And our first story to tell couldn't have been more powerful to share. It was a pleasure to hear the story of Joanna Padgett Atkinson who often is referred to by her nickname of Mama Rabbit. Her interview revealed not only her outstanding service to our community with being the spearhead of the amazing trail systems of Jackrabbit Mountain, but her history of how many lives she has touched and continues to do so with her kindness, passion for life, humor, and her endless community service she provides.
Our mission here at Tell Your Story at Hawk's Hill Farm has always been to capture the stories of our community members to create a connection through story and enabling individuals to be seen, heard, and valued. We look forward to Nader Nikoupour and his gifts of editing skills to create a movie of Joanna's story soon to share.
Who do you know that needs their story told? What's Your Story?
